Allotment records, 1861-1884.

Incoming and outgoing correspondence and record books used by the Treasurer in disbursing allotments from the pay of Wisconsin's Civil War soldiers. Individual soldiers were able to allot a portion of their pay for their dependents; these funds were paid into the state treasury for disbursement and were known as the Allotment Fund.
